Where in K12, one course dedicated to nutrition & lifestyle diseases is mandatory between standard 6 and 12, EVERY YEAR! So our children learn about nutrition, PCOS and Diabetes in depth, instead of obsessing over mitochondria….

Where, when our children go to college, the mess food is eatable, & menu & recipes curated to ensure vegetarians don’t have a protein deficit, & a college health coach actively engages with students who need attention…so our children don’t survive on Maggi and start losing chunks of hair by their 4th year…

Where the government (together with relevant bodies who stand to gain) regularly runs campaigns akin to the smashing-success ‘Ande roz khao’ around key issues like PCOS, Protein-deficient Indian plate, risks of abdominal obesity & type 2 diabetes prevention & control…..

Where employers have to have reimbursement provision for your gym/ nutrition advice/ preventive healthcare spends , like EPF, for every member of the workforce…or tax rebates are made against these spends, albeit small…

Where doctors focus on, and have some kind of incentive to incorporate preventive & nutrition advice alongside giving the medicines….where it is compulsory to consult a dietician after a doctor consultation for your lifestyle disease….

Where health coaching has become one of the most respected, well paying professions, with more than 0.5Million health coaches , & is actively pursued by young people passionate about healthcare

Where everyone who cares enough about their hairline, knows that they need to fix their diet & get enough nutrition, & not rely on Patanjali or Dr Batra’s or a transplant…..

Where packaged foods companies are forced to put an ‘Energy dense’ label visible on top, to gently remind people that these are the foods that can easily cause significant caloric surplus & moderation is advised…

Where an aarogya setu-like app comes pre-installed in all smartphones, with it being the single-most reliable place for information on nutrition & diet & represents the government’s current stance on nutrition best practises…..ensuring the common people can understand how to resolve digestion issues, how to lose fat & not have to rely on the sea of misinformation and pseudo-science online, & not fall prey to ‘10Kg in 10days’ kind of youtube videos…

Where right nutrition has truly become a movement….like fashion & social media has….

Where knowledge is easily available….and misinformation is penalised….

Where colleges, schools & employers care/ have to care about these things…

Where we, as a country, have changed our relationship with food…for good..

Where the mind is without fear of lifestyle diseases, and the head is held high……Into that heaven of freedom, my lord, let my country awake.
